There are a couple of major problems in higher education all around the world: namely: rising student loan debt, a knowledge gap between students & employers and the negative impact of standardized testing. As society changes we need a educational system that can change with it. Laer builds on the foundations of the Sharing Economy to create a system for peer-2-peer education designed specifically for the needs of our modern society.
Eindresultaat:
Laer is a combination of a school and a marketplace where students enroll in apprenticeships offered by Maesters. In these apprenticeships students get assigned to workplaces offered by employers. Students ‘learn while doing’ by providing labor for employers with guidance from their Maester. This practical experience is supplemented with free access to workshops, seminars online courses, books and other publications to further develop necessary theoretical knowledge and skills.
